I have received your email from Clay Nettles, our Executive Director.


After reviewing your website and the email you sent to Clay, we do not feel RID would be able to partner with your business.


With RID being a non-profit organization, there are very strict rules regulating our actions. If we were to partner with your organization we would be indirectly involved with pay rates and scheduling which we cannot do.


We also would be promoting one service agency over another. If you would like to become an organizational member, you can definitely do that and be listed on our website as an ISA.

At this time, we are unable to partner with EYESIGN in the capacity you requested, but we can certainly have you as an organizational member.

I understand what you are saying about RID not being able to be involved with pay rates and scheduling.  That is unfortunate...I really think it would benefit the Deaf Community, Hearing schedulers and the Interpreters to have an extensive data base of certified terps with advanced search options and direct independent scheduling on-demand 24/7/365.  We're in the business of providing the best service to the most people possible.

As far as the business aspect, I was compelled to start this entity to maintain work in my community faced with a contractual 12 month non-compete clause (This has recently been amended to 3 mos.)   As a membership-driven organization, I was hoping to figure out a win-win for the certified RID members and am flexible about re-organizing, selling the idea for the cost of the website to date, etc... in order to make this kind of website available to the broadest range of consumers.  I have invested a modest amount  in the concept/site.  I would be thrilled to negotiate a way to add this concept to RID membership services.  The service is being used successfully.
